Introduction

After refining the design of our application through a number of usability test performed on our lofi, we came up with a mobile, Hi-Fi prototype of our application. This Hi-Fi Prototype was designed for android G1 platform using App Inventor IDE. This application allows users to form walking groups at night and to promote safe walking at night by building a trust system with the help of badges. Apart from encouraging safe group walking, the application also provides information about businesses that are open late and safe places to walk.

We came up with this interaction flow chart in a brainstorming session so that our team has a detailed knowledge what interactions our application should perform.

Application Startup Screen – Welcome screen for the user

Next Screen gives the user information about the active Beacon Groups and walkers .

Night Walking Information (Walkable Score, Night Business). Walkable score is calculated on various parameters as crime report, darkness of the place.

Interaction screens for the user to search a Beacon Group and join a group based on his choice.

Application search Best Beacon Groups and show the Group map.

If User can’t find a Beacon group heading in the direction of his destination he can create his own group using the screens above.

Application allows the user to create a group name and select a badge for his group.

Above Screen presents the user with a Success message and shows his group on the map.

Above Screen presents the user with Group information with the details like “from where the group has started and at what time” . A screen with the members profile is shown on right hand side.

User can keep an archive of his badges collected so far.

Above Screens show the profile of an individual member in a Beacon group and a badge. Badge is used to recognize the group members.
