Scenario of Christina

“Living life is a creative process too”
- Has enough money but not much more
- Works hard during the day but on her own hours
- Walking is her main way to travel, day or night
-
1. Work from home | On a typical weekday, Christina will wake up around 10am and begin to work on her current freelance design projects from home. During this time she will use her computer to check her email, see what others are doing, and update her social networking sites, such as Facebook and Twitter. Sometimes she will eat lunch at home, but she will usually try to get out of the house after a few hours of work.
-
2. Going out to work | Christina will walk to a local coffee shop, maybe grabbing lunch along the way, and work some more on her current work projects. During this time of day she will typically have to walk by herself, but if her roommate is around she will try to walk with her. While listening to music on her walk, she will check her iPhone to tell her friends where she is walking to.
-
3. Class or classwork | In mid to late afternoon, Christina is done with her freelance work for the day. Depending on the day of the week, she may have to go to class, or do some work before her class the following day. For class, she will walk to her nearby campus. During her walk she will check her phone to see what her friends are up to, and what may be happening tonight. She sees that there are a few shows at familiar places, but may also consider going to some bars that are relatively nearby.
-
4. After class | After class, she is going to walk home so that she can drop off her things and then go out with some friends. On her walk home, she checks her phone to see what her friends may have planned. Tonight, a few of her boyfriend’s friends want to go to a different bar to hang out. Also, maybe afterward, they will go to one of her favorite diners.
-
5. Going Out | Now it is well into the evening and dark outside, by the time Christina gets back to her apartment. Tonight it seems she will have to meet her friends at the bar, and her roommate is working through the night. Since this bar is not the most familiar, she wants to figure out the best way to walk there from her place. From her phone, she is able to determine that it is about a 20 minute walk, and she is able to determine what path is the best, considering lighting, neighborhoods, and where people are probably out during the walk.
-
6.Returning Home | After a relatively late night at the bar and then eating an early morning meal at one of her favorite diners, Christina and her boyfriend make their way back to her apartment. On their way back they are able to talk and socialize while they walk. Christina wants to communicate to her friends where she is currently and where she is headed on her walk, so that they know she is OK. Her roommate Eva is especially interested in her whereabouts as she just got home from work.
